The construction of the Honved Infantry Regiment’s barracks began in 1894 on land previously purchased from Count Rudolf Kotek from Futog. After the Second World War it was named after Marshal Tito, and in recent times it was named Archibald Reiss Barracks. The main facade is oriented towards the Futoska Street and is extensively decorated. A group of non-governmental organizations, artists and socially engaged individuals tried to turn the barracks into a social center and a city cultural center in 2011, but the attempt did not get the understanding of the authorities. The barracks are still abandoned, but there are plans to give it up to the University of Novi Sad.
