Dániel Váczi saxophonist, Balázs Horváth bassist and Zsolt Zsolt Sárvári Kovács founded the Trio in 2001, and since 2009, with saxophonist, János Ávéd, and guitarist Márton Fenyvesi they mostly play in quartet or quintet formation mostly called “Multet”.
In 2016, Dániel Váczi in association with Tobias Terebessy developed a new kind of wind instrument instrument, named Glissonic. The essence of the novelty is that instead of the holes on the body of the instrument, there is a longitudinal gap that can be closed anywhere with a strap-tight magnetic strap. In this way, it is similar to the stringed instruments in its game mode, while its original blowing character remains in its playing. The first model developed by the instrument family is a hybrid of a storage-soprano saxophone with a body of wood, but a neck of copper.
In the Trio’s new program, this Glissonic will be a major player. Some of the pieces are rooted in classical music (Josquin, Buxtehude, Webern), others are original compositions or ideas, but all apply improvisation.
